I was commissioned to paint this young couple by the son's Mother. It was a labour of love across the Atlantic. The Mother lived in New York and the son's wedding took place in The Philippines and the portrait was shipped to Singapore. A lot of trust was required! I wanted the portrait to have a contemporary painterly feel. I don't do photographic. I like to find the connection and I feel it's there.
